   JUPITER belongs – together with SATURN to the “social planets”, it represent the energies and principles necessary for us to take our place and realize ourselves in the company of others. Without JUPITER’S enthusiasm and optimism, without confidence in our own abilities and hope for success, we would find it difficult to find our way in life. JUPITER is a beacon that shines into the distance. He keeps an overview and does not dwell on unimportant details. He is not only bearer of life’s optimism, but also a source of life’s wisdom.

   Despite the fact , that it is simplistically considered - especially in traditional astrology – as a “lucky planet”, its beneficial influence is not universal, we cannot rely on it unconditionally. It cannot be said that he gives us something undeserved, that would not even be fair, he only provides us with the greatest possible space for development that we need. JUPITER hides the possibilities of GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT or EXPANSION. It depends only on us whether it will be qualitative or quantitative, whether it will be filled or overwhelmed.

   JUPITER passes through the entire sign of the zodiac in about 11.5 years, that is it stays in each sign for about a year. JUPITER goes retrograde for about 4 months every 13 months, where this phase offers an opportunity to rethink our internal and external growth process and what we believe and what gives us confidence.

ARCHETYPE AND MYTHOLOGY:

ZEUS, JUPITER, THOR, PERUN, MARDUK, WODAN.

   ZEUS was the son of the Titans KRONOS and RHEA, who ruled over the cosmos before THE OLYMPIANS. His father KRONOS – SATURN ate all his children: HESTIA, DEMETER, HERA, POSEIDON and HADES out of the fear, as predicted URANUS, that he would be dethroned, but was tricked into swallowing a stone, instead of his fifth son. ZEUS was raised on the island of Crete , by a nymphs MELIAE and fed on goat’s milk with “manna” ( The sugars of the ‘manna ash’ still grows in southern Europe). ZEUS eventually led his siblings after, what they been released and spewed up by potion ( Salt, mustard and ipecacuanha ), which was given to KRONOS by Titan METIS, to war against his father and the other Titans. Each of the five rescued ones took it in turn to embrace ZEUS, they youngest, but now eldest brother – Their saviour and their leader.

   After winning the 10 years long ‘TITANOMANCHY’ war, he banish the Titans, except of couple lucky ones to Tartarus. ZEUS and his siblings – dubbed the ‘OLYMPIANS’ because they lived a top Mount Olympus, appointed themselves the new rulers of the Cosmos!

   By the HERA, his queen, ZEUS fathered several important children, including the war god ARES, the childbirth goddess EILEITHYIA, and the smith god HEPHAESTUS. But ZEUS also had children by other marriages, including the MUSES by MNEMOSYNE and PERSHEPHONE by DEMETER. ZEUS mythology contains countless tales of his affairs with godesses, nymphs and mortals of all sorts. From these various consorts ( Well exceeding 100! ), ZEUS has numerous children, including the gods APOLLO, ARTEMIS, ATHENA, HERMES, the heroes HERACLES, PERSEUS and also the beautiful queen HELEN.

   In ancient literature, art or cult ZEUS was typically represented as a god of the sky and weather – thus by extension the god who controlled lightning, thunder, rain, snow and other meteorological phenomena, where the most recognizable symbols of his power and dominion were lightning and thunder, the dreaded thunderbolts he wielded were said to have been fashioned for him by the Cyclopes. ZEUS – JUPITER gives himself and the world a hope. He forced his father to release absorbed siblings and keeps him alive without revenge! This is new, from which repays the same to the same...

JUPITER (ZEUS, DEUS, JOVIS, DIS PATER)

   ...Was originally the god of light (both Sun and Moon) and wind (thunderstorms), is considered to be a successor of the Mesopotamian god MARDUK (perhaps even older then god SIN). JUPITER as a Babylonian god comes from the same circles (agriculture), where like god MARDUK, he has yet to establish himself among the gods, to become “PRIMUS INTER PARES”, like ZEUS the father of the gods in the highest choir of Olympus.

   In Germanic Valhalla he is symbolized as ODIN/WOTAN/WODAN, who inherited his ancestor THOR and claimed him as his son TYR/TIO. DIU’S predecessor MARDUK chooses a different path; he divides his line of descent among his colleagues (one of whom is his father ANU), forming the first Babylonian triad: ENUMA/ANU/ENLIL, while he himself is to be hidden under the name ENLIL or BAAL/BEL. This tripartite constitutes the complete cosmology, as it will later be reaccepted in the Christian Trinity. Omen-text “ENUMA/ANU/ENLIL is considered to be the earliest iconic-graphical document of Theo-morphotic astrology.

   The god JUPITER guarantees above all – law and peace. ZEUS had already ascended to the position of ruler in the early Hellenic world of the gods, so it seemed easy for him to grant his son, the sun god APOLLO, the ultimate solar deity! As the he right to go first!

   The authoritarian behaviour of JUPITER in Rome (more precisely JOVE), his majesty and glory as well as the constant chain of his infidelities do not show OLYMPUS MAXIMUS (the higher good), in the pure light.    JUPITER as opposed to the SUN is not absolute as ruler let alone infallible. This is due to its astronomical past – where he would like to be the sun himself, but neither his size nor his energy is sufficient for that. As a punishment for his audacity, this largest of all planets has been denied the solar insignia of character and is LUNAR in nature.

   PRIMUS INTER PARES – he is more responsible for JUSTICE, than for a certain authoritative order, which he himself often violates as a result of extramarital escapades. An passionate hunter and shooter, cares about teenagers and adolescents any ways. Through all his manners, JUPITER always remains an extremely generous MASTER and BENEFACTOR.

   JUPITER is the largest planet in the solar system, where its enormous mass (316x bigger from Earth, but still 30 times smaller than the SUN) amounts more than twice the mass of all the ither planets combined. ZEUS triumphs and in mythology is valued higher than APOLLO, probably because HE controls the laws of the SUN (The JUPITER system is also the source of intense burst of radio noise, occasionally radiating more energy than the SUN at some frequencies).

ZEUS/JUPITER is the god of fertility, but also god of thunder, who punishes with lightning, HE watches over religion and executes justice. HE empirically represents in the human soul, that which is meaningful, that which strives for something higher – HUMAN CHARACTER.

   Although ZEUS/JUPITER forgives, but not infinitely, because mythology also tells, that HE can also PUNISH CRUELLY, especially when he feels abused (IXION, PROMETHEUS, SISYPHUS, ATLAS and others…). So a good ZEUS can be hard but HE has his weaknesses too. HE’S an easily vulnerable pride, prone to cheap love affairs, and panic fear for his throne as self-proclaimed RULER OF OLYMPUS. The fables attribute to him “an adultery” and “self-control”, but as has been said – HI DID NOT repay the same, with the same, but left his father KRONOS alive and left him in the world of the gods, the place which belongs to him – TIMEKEEPER or GOD OF KARMA and DESTINY.

   Astrology assigns to JUPITER the rulership of the zodiac sign SAGITTARIUS (9^th house) and classical astrology also the sign of PISCES (12^th house) which he had to share with his brother POSEIDON/NEPTUNE, thus is ascribed as EXALTED.
